In the year 1987, Captain William "Buck" Rogers, a charismatic space cowboy, is on a mission when his spaceship, the Ranger 3, experiences a catastrophic malfunction. As he struggles to regain control, the ship is struck by lightning, and Buck is launched into a vortex that sends him hurtling through time and space. When Buck awakens, he finds himself in the year 2491, amidst the ruins of a war-torn planet. The once-thriving Earth has been ravaged by nuclear war, and humanity is now engaged in an interplanetary conflict against the villainous Draconian Empire. Buck's arrival sparks both wonder and suspicion among the inhabitants of this new world. The stalwart warrior, donning his iconic red jacket and sporting a wisecracking attitude, soon becomes embroiled in a complex web of intrigue and adventure. He teams up with Colonel Wilma Deering, a brilliant and feisty pilot who commands the Earth Defense Directorate's elite squadron, the Wing People. As Buck navigates this brave new world, he encounters an array of colorful characters, including Prince Bennedict, the charismatic leader of the Draconians; Kane, a cunning alien warlord; and Dr. Huer, a brilliant scientist with ties to both sides. With his trusty laser pistol at his side, Buck must use his piloting skills, wits, and old-fashioned cowboy charm to survive in this treacherous new world. Throughout the film, Buck finds himself torn between his duty to protect humanity and his growing sense of belonging on this strange and alien frontier. As he faces off against formidable foes and outwits cunning adversaries, Captain William "Buck" Rogers proves that even a man from another era can be a hero in the 25th century.
